The Certified Institutional Protection Specialist (CIPS) program is designed for line officers and other staff responsible for the protection of a cultural or related institution. IFCPP's requirements for CIPS basic certification include current institutional protection responsibilities, clear criminal history, and final approval by the IFCPP Certification Team. CIPS Online Coursework Includes 6 topics: I. Introduction to Cultural Property Protection II. Guest Relations III. Conflict Resolution and Confrontation De-Escalation IV: Emergencies V: Securing Cultural Collections VI: Legal Consideration This course should take approximately 5 hours to complete, although completion time may vary depending on each individual learner’s pace. To successfully complete the course and receive a certificate, learners must complete the Final Exam and earn a passing score of 70% or higher. (See below. If you or your institution already have the required book please choose the CIPM course without the reading included. This course price includes the book and shipping.) IFCPP's requirements for CIPM manager certification include active membership, institutional protection experience, evidence of a clear criminal history, examination, and required reading ("Safeguarding Cultural Properties")*, final approval by the IFCPP Certification Team. All CIPM certification candidates are required to submit certification paperwork to complete program eligibility. The background and release forms allow us to conduct a criminal history only. To complete re-certification through this course you must retake and pass the CVRS Exam. The Certified Institutional Protection Manager Level II (CIPM II) Program offers the advanced level of management certification, and requires completion of the CIPM level one program as a prerequisite. CIPM II is designed for manager and supervisors, as well as executives and administrators of a cultural or related institution.   CIPM II certification is the next step in IFCPP's industry recognized CIPM program, offering qualified managers the opportunity to further advance their cultural property protection knowledge. Graduates attain the highest designation in the field, joining the ranks of leading professionals across the globe.   The CIPM II program requires completion of the CIPM level-one program as a pre-requisite. Additionally, level-one certification must be up-to-date prior to level-two course enrollment. IFCPP's other requirements for CIPM II certification include active membership, institutional protection experience, evidence of a clear criminal history, final approval by the IFCPP Certification Team. All CIPM II certification candidates are required to submit certification paperwork to complete program eligibility. If the candidate has completed CIPM in the past year and therefore has already completed said paperwork it does not need to be submitted again. The background and release forms allow us to conduct a criminal history only.
